Custom Tooling

Digilant.net can have tooling made for almost any plastic or metal part.  We have experience in plastic injection molding from 3mm precision lenses for a medical device, to a 2 meter auto dashboard.  For forming metals, we can make tools from precision custom fasteners to truck cab structural members.

With extensive 3D and 2D CAD/CAM/CAE capabilities, the Digilant.net team can manage an efficient process from customer design to finished product.  All tooling opportunities are subject to Digilant.net’s “Design for Manufacturing” (DFM) process.  Digilant.net’s own engineering team will collaborate with our partners design engineers to ensure the tool structure will yield high quality products at the lowest total cost.  If need be, we will suggest product modifications to ensure quality and cost success.

Tools for metal forming and fabrication

Digilant.net and partners have the resources and experience to design, evaluate and make high quality, cost effective metal forming tooling within a comfortable lead time.  A Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review and a structured 1st article process will ensure tools will produce products that exceed customer expectations.  Small and large quantity production runs and tooling up to 5×3.5 meters and 2000 tons of stamping force.

Digilant.net has the engineering and tool room resources to create world-class tools for a wide variety of metal forming and plastic molding shapes from 2 mm to 4 meters.  With CAD/CAM/CAE abilities, DFM evaluations, structured 1st article procedures and high quality tool making equipment, Digilant.net will produce tools for production in our factories or deliver tools to customers factories and help get them producing their products.

Custom tooling for our customer's factory

In addition to producing products from customer tools in Digilant.net factories, a significant portion of tooling produced is made and delivered to the customer’s factory and process.  After a collaborative and intensive 1st article process at the Digilant.net partner’s factory in the Asia Pacific, our engineers travel to the customer’s location to help install the tools and ensure the same 1st article product that was made at our factory in the Asia Pacific, is produced at the customer’s factory.
